Remember when I got sprayed by a toilet at the art museum?
And when I was fondled in an old theater by a total stranger while his girlfriend was sitting mere inches away?
Good times.

Pin It Now!
But Saturday was different.
Saturday didn't have anything odd or kooky or pervy happen.
Saturday we loaded up the fam, including my dad, husband, two daughters, and nephew who is twelve years old and six inches taller than me but whatever, and went to Brick World.
AKA the Lego Convention.
It was excellent.
Right off the bat, I got geeked up over the Lego Star Wars creation.
It was huge.
It was massive.
It contained Yoda.
I get all my life advice from Yoda.
Next up: a replica of Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.
Those Lego people think of everything. The stadium was complete with a sliding roof, opening windows and doors, field, players, fans, camera crews, and trash cans (including trash).
And a working TV.
Didja hear me? A working TV.
Oddly enough, it was playing a Colts game and not Real Housewives of Orange County. I guess these Lego enthusiasts take their themes very seriously.
Next we saw a big robotic Lego chess set.
I can appreciate it's extreme Legoness, but I don't know how to play chess. So I moved onto the scenery exhibits.
I got my pirate on.
And I went to school.
The scenery stuff was neat, but it wasn't really flippin' my picnic table, so I started amusing myself.
Know what the brown Lego in the middle of the cow field is?
Lego poop.
Know what else cracked me up? The guy run over by a steamroller.
Then finally. An exhibit for me.
Target!
Sigh. I love Target. I really do.
Right now you are probably thinking "Target is nice. The cow poo was charming. The steamrolled guy was amusing. But what's the cultural significance of Brick World?"
Buckle up, kids. I'm getting to that part.
There was art.
And there was music. Look closely.
That's the Village People on stage.
Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town.
There's no need to be unhappy.
Sorry. I'm in a very Village People state of mind now.
Yep, they totally rocked the YMCA, err … Lego City.
My point? Art and music are culturally significant. And I saw them both at Brick World.
I feel all cultury inside now.
Wow! Freaking AWESOME!! And I was just impressed with Lego windmills!
ReplyDeleteIt was freaking AWESOME! And I'm not just talking about the Village People.
