Saturday was a bright, sunny day and I figured it would be the perfect day to watch (in my opinion) the scariest movie on my list, 'Silence of the Lambs'. Sadly, both copies were rented at the video store, so I went with another movie on the list, 'Fight Club'.
*side note: When ponying up the dollar to rent 'Fight Club' the clerk informed me that I had incurred a four dollar fee for the late return of 'Titanic 2'. Well, that's a head scratcher. I'd never rented 'Titanic 2' for a variety of reasons, namely I didn't like the first Titanic and seriously, 'Titanic 2'? How can you possibly make a sequel to that movie? The boat sank, people. The. Boat. Sank. End of story. No sequel. And, after me confronting the clerk about it, no late fee. :)
Instinctively I know this movie will disturb me. I tried to get out of it by texting the perpetrator of the list.
She's being a stickler.
As I'm sure all of you know, the first rule of Fight Club is that you don't talk about Fight Club. The second rule is that you don't talk about Fight Club.
Since I'm a rule follower by nature, this effectively ends my blog post.

Okay. Wait. I jotted down some thoughts before I knew the official Fight Club rules, so I think that makes me exempt.
My thoughts, in order, up until I heard the first rule of Fight Club:
1. I like the opening credit music. It's jazzy with a hint of rock. Yeah, it's got a beat that you can snap your fingers to. Me likey.
2. That Brad Pitt is a handsome fella. He's probably the only one on the planet that can rock a pair of burgundy slacks.
3. Is that … Meatloaf? Wait … what? Meatloaf is in this? I didn't know that. Well I'll be danged. Meatloaf … you got to do what you can and let Mother Nature do the rest, ain't no doubt about it we were double blessed, 'cause we were barely seventeen and we were barely dressed ...
4. Wow. This is disturbing.
After thought number four, the rules of Fight Club kicked in (so to speak) and I'm forbidden from commenting more.
To recap: Got first movie checked off my list. Got seriously disturbed in the process. Going to follow up with a good, wholesome, non-disturbing movie. Like 'Animal House' maybe. Pin It Now!
There are 2 movies where I didn't see the end coming... Fight Club and The Usual Suspects.

So proud that you get one of the most disturbing films out of the way, right out of the gate! Well done! By all means, reward yourself with Animal House or Swingers! BTW, The Usual Suspects are on your 2013 list.
