Thinking I'm Wonder Woman

My family staged a small pintervention for me last week. It seems as though they like to eat dinner every night and wear clean clothes to school or work and somehow pinterest interferes with this practice. They patiently explained how my perusal of nifty stuff on pinterest was robbing me of quality time with them. Quality time meaning good food and clean clothing, of course.

It was a rough start, but I made the effort. Hardly any pinning was done. My time was limited to about an hour every day. I was doing so well. I was doing so well. Then I received an email from the good folks at pinterest.com alerting me to some boards I might enjoy.

Enjoy them I did! Look what I pinned today:

That's right. It's a Wonder Woman themed Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Two things about this mixer speak to me.

One: I already have a plain white Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I love her. With almost un-holy like feeling I love this mixer. I use her several times a week and most of the time, she has stuff in her big silver bowl to mix, whip, or knead. The other times, well, I just like to watch the attachments spin around.

Two: Once upon a time (third grade) I believed with my whole heart and soul that I was Wonder Woman. Okay, Wonder Woman trapped in a third grader's body. And I'm talking about the TV show starring Linda Carter and not the comic book Wonder Woman. Everyone knows that Linda Carter really was/is the real Wonder Woman because TV people are real and comic book people aren't.

Duh.

I firmly believed that I had an invisible jet somewhere (I simply couldn't find it 'cause the invisibility factor was working against me), at any moment my bangle bracelets could stop bullets (not really pertinent to the average third grader, but cool nonetheless), and that if I could tie a lasso it would be a lasso of truth.

Know why I held these beliefs so firmly? I had Wonder Woman Underoos. Remember Underoos? They were a dynamite combo of undershirt and underwear that looked like a superhero's outfit. My superhero of choice? Wonder Woman.

Hence the Wonder Woman Underoos. And I could do anything Wonder Woman could do while sporting my Underoos. Honestly, I still kinda feel like I can do anything Wonder Woman can do if given the proper underpants and accoutrements.

However, it's been really difficult to find a non-slutty pair of women's size medium Wonder Woman Underoos.

In the meantime, I'll settle for a custom paint job on my mixer.

Pin It Now!

  1. I love how the fabulous paint job reflects on the stainless bowl. I think this little beauty goes on my Christmas 2012 wish list!!
