… well, okay. It's more like my June with Instagram, but somehow the title 'My June With Instagram' just doesn't sing to me.
It all started with a display of mustache rings …
… they spoke to me. And my youngest. The mustache spoke to her so much that she created mustache art. Her painting is going to hang in the basement … if I ever decide on a color for the walls and, you know, actually paint them.
The Sun came out this week. It had a lovely rainbow ring around it. Which you totally can not see in the photo, but I'm showing it to you anyway because I'm kind of a dork ...
… which is precisely why my oldest is laughing in this next photo. Yep. That's her. She's laughing at me because a bug landed on my arm while I was eating my sandwich at the pool on Wednesday. I may have jumped and loudly gasped. My involuntary jump may have caused me to toss my sandwich into the air, which in turn may have caused the layers of cheese, spinach and turkey to separate mid-air and land like confetti on my towel. Maybe.
That's the rumor anyway.
I got my revenge on her. I insisted that she run with me yesterday morning. You know how I don't like to run alone because of rabid deer or a pervert driving a Camry. I figured coercing a child to go with me would be a suitable deterrent from someone or something jumping out of the corn and snatching me.
This was my kid after the two and a half mile run. I feared she may be dead. The giant bottle of water in front of her face leads me to believe that she's alive and well, just not speaking to me.
I guess it was pretty hot outside.
I can't help it. I function better in the extreme heat. I belong in the desert.
My week ended with a trip to Purdue's campus for some dark chocolate fro yo (frozen yogurt) with coconut flakes on top (so delicious that I've decided it was, in fact, life changing) and a stop at some shops in the Village.
My kids adore the bead room at one shop. We were in there for over an hour, man. An hour. Whew. That's a long time to look at beads considering none of us make jewelry.
Despite being laughed at and spending an hour in the bead room, I think my Week with Instagram ended on a lovely note with some lilies in my backyard.

Love it.
