Spring has exploded at my house. Wanna see?
Meet pink hyacinth. She smells, but in a lovely kind of way.
And the yellow daffodils. I love their bright color. They look so dang happy in my front yard.
The four peach trees in the backyard are in bloom. Each tree has a bajillion blooms. It's true. I was out there and I counted a bajillion.
Two of the trees in the backyard bear yellow peaches and the other two trees bear white peaches. A more astute homeowner would know if the white flowering trees bear white peaches, but you have me and I can't remember from year to year which trees are which. Also, I can't remember which day of the week is trash day and the fact that I don't like hot drinks until I order one.
But I digress.
A less lazy blogger would google the peach blossom/fruit color info for you, her beloved readers, because she loves to make the world smarter by imparting naturey wisdom and stuff. But you have me and I my blogging goal is to make the world a slightly cheesier place by imparting dated pop culturey nuggets of wisdom, like the fact that Aretha Franklin was the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Still, I do love these peach blossoms.
I really love the magnolia tree in the backyard, too. She's got a ton of blossoms this year. Not a bajillion like those show offs the peaches or anything, but she's not too shabby.
Magnolia blossoms are white when you look down upon them.
The underside of a magnolia blossom is that lovely pinky purple color. I was attempting to capture the underside of this blossom when she took umbrage. Evidently she didn't like me looking up her skirt and she gave me the finger.
Lesson learned: Don't look up a magnolia blossom's skirt. It pisses 'em off.
Still, I'm thrilled Spring is here.
