Cool picture, but it needs a name.
Any ideas?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Beuller?
Sorry. Little '80s digression there. You've probably come to expect them by now.
What was I talking about … oh yes. My iris picture. It needs a name.
I asked the oldest child what the name of this photo should be and she didn't have any suggestions.
Instead she told me about how the end of each of the petals, near the center of the flower, has yellow on it. The yellow is to direct the bees and other pollinators to where the pollen is.
Seriously. That was her response.
That scientific, totally logical, and educationed answer was her response.
She was surprised that I didn't know that, especially considering I passed 5th grade. I told her I did indeed pass 5th grade science but didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the subject matter because I sat by a cute boy named Kevin.
Evidently there wasn't enough room in my brain to maintain both knowledge of the anatomy of an iris and the name of the cute boy for the past twenty-five years.
Obviously my brain's remembering priorities aren't what they should be.
But you know what? I think I will name this photo Kevin after the cute boy in 5th grade science.
Pin It Now!
Ummm there were ONLY 2 Kevin's in our 5th grade: Schwartz & Hyatt. So, that being said, enquiring minds want to know... Which one did you have the hots for??? And, perhaps more importantly, WHY am I just know learning this tasty bit of grade school trivia?
