1. I have not yet posted anything about the new pet rat, mainly because I'm still living in denial. Deep denial is a wonderful place.
2. Spring is the season in which Mother Nature messes with me the most. Sunny and 70 yesterday, snowy and 30 degrees today. I blame Al Roker.
3. My Diet Coke habit is getting wildly out of control.
4. Ten days ago I sliced my thumb open while dicing an onion. It still hurts and I think this should relieve me of any bathroom cleaning duties. Don't know what the connection there is, but I really, really hate cleaning the bathroom.
5. I kinda, sorta want a dog. Currently, I'm torn between a basset hound and a bulldog. I would name either breed Thurston. Both breeds look like a Thurston to me. Or maybe Walter. Unless it's a girl. Then it's Chaka Khan all the way, baby.
6. I need to buy a new swimsuit. I fear that there is not enough tequila in the world to make this a pleasant experience.
7. From the ages of five to twelve I wore a swimsuit everyday during the summer instead of shorts and a t-shirt. I find my current disdain for swimwear somewhat ironic.
8. My 95 year old Grandmother will ask to borrow a pen when signing her credit card receipt or writing a check to a store. If she deems it a "good writin' pen", she'll casually slip the pen into her purse. I now do the same thing.
9. I've been keeping a food journal for the last 167 days in which I record what I eat every day. I've had ice cream for 166 of those days. Is this abnormal?
10. Do I care if it's abnormal?
11. No. I don't.
12. I like it when you guys comment on my posts. Makes me feel equal parts loved and shocked that people actually read what I've written.
13. Ever been in a boring meeting in which you've spontaneously busted out "I got chills … they're multiplying … and I'm loooooosing control" a la Danny Zuko in Grease?
No?
Never done that?
Oh. Okay. Um … sure … me either. Heh heh. That'd be funny though, you know, if it were to happen.
14. Okay. Okay. I've done that. But in my defense, it was a really, really boring meeting and it was either burst into a show tune or fall asleep. In this type of situation I will choose show tune almost every time.
15. I recently watched the movie Purple Rain for the first time in about twenty years. Wow. That movie did not hold up well. My conclusion: okay movie, great soundtrack.

ReplyDelete1.Go to the city pool. Not the one at Armstrong park, the one at Columbian Park that attracts a wide segment of the city population.
2.Make sure you are wearing your darkest sunglasses.
3.People watch.
4.Come to the realization you really can rock a bikini one more year
5. when your bad body image kicks in and convinces your otherwise, repeat step #3.
6. If you are not convinced, take a deep sip of the Margarita masquerading as a mountain dew in your beach bag.
Happy bathing suit wearing. You can still rock it!!
