Embracing Fall

Generally speaking, I'm a Summer type of person. I function better when it's sunny and about eighty degrees outside. I wear shorts and flip flops, carry a bottle of SPF White Girl in my purse, and enjoy the long days of Summer. In short, Summer and I are best friends.

Because of Newton's law about an equal and opposite reaction, Winter and I are so not homies. It's snowy and cold. I don't do snowy and cold very well. Since I detest Winter, Fall is kind of a bummer season to me.

Sure, it's beautiful ...

… but I know Winter is coming. That knowledge cuts out a lot of the beauty and enjoyment of Fall.

This year I am going in a new direction. I'm embracing Fall and all her wonderfulness. I'm giving into soups and long sleeve weather. I bought a righteous pair of leather boots. I even hung up a leaf garland in my kitchen as an homage to Fall.

Yeah, it's getting crazy in here.

Happy Fall!

  1. Those are my sentiments also about Fall! Maybe I should try and have your positive outlook about it this year!!

    1. Not sure how long the positive attitude will last … probably until the next frost and then I will be a cold weather grump again. :)
